Three: Aah! Hot! Hot! Hot!
Four: Better let them cool. Now: one, two, three, four! Four plates.
Three: Just enough for 1, 2, 3.
[A buzzer sound effect goes off and Three's body glows red as she miscounts the flapjacks.]
Three: Three flapjacks!
One, Two, and Four: Three flapjacks?
One: One's gone missing!
Two: But how?
Three: This might just be the work of...The Flapjack Snaffler!
[One, Two, and Four gasp.]
One: What's a Flapjack Snaffler?
Three: It's a strange creature made of 3 blocks, with 3 eyes to spy out flapjacks, 3 arms to grab flapjacks, and 3 mouths to eat flapjacks. Nom nom nom!
[One and Two gasp.]
Three: And there must be one hiding nearby, because there are only...
Four: One, two, three, four! Four flapjacks.
Three: Four?
One: Oh, phew!
Two: No Flapjack Snafflers here!
Three: That's what it wants you to think! It's trying to trick us! Everyone guard a flapjack!
[One, Two, Three and Four all rush to grab and guard a flapjack.]
Four: I think we're safe.
Three: Really? Let's see. 1, 2, 4 [buzzer], 3 [buzzer]! Three flapjacks! It's struck again!
One, Two, and Four: [gasp] The Flapjack Snaffler!
[They scramble to hide behind a bush, which Three scouts out of.]
Three: [runs on top of the thing they're hiding behind] Something's coming!
[Five walks in, waving.]
Two: Ooh... How many eyes has it got?
Three: 1, 2, 3 eyes! [buzzer]
[One, Two and Four make fearful exclamations.]
Four: How many arms?
Three: 1, 2, 3 arms! [buzzer]
One: And...how many blocks?
Three: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. 3 blocks! [buzzer]
One, Two, and Four: AAAHH! IT'S THE FLAPJACK SNAFFLER!
Three: No! It's Five!
Five: What are you all doing?
All (Except Five): Five!
Two: You haven't got three eyes, or three arms!
Five: Whoever told you I did?
One, Two, and Four: Hmmm... [glaring at Three]
Three: I counted them!
Five: Three, do you know how to count?
Three: Yes, of course! Look at a bunch of things, say some numbers, and then say three! [buzzer] Because three's the best number! [buzzer]
Five: There's a little more to it than that, Three. There are some rules you have to follow. Rule one: Count everything once. Try counting those flapjacks.
[Two and Four adjust the three flapjacks on the ground, putting them in a line. One, Two, and Four then move out of the way.]
Five: It can help to put them in a line, and to point at them one at a time, to make sure you don't miss any, or count the same one twice.
Three: 1, 2, 3, 4!
Five: Very good!
Three: Ah! 4, 3, 2, 1! [buzzer] Wait, one? That's not right.
Five: Rule two: Say the numbers in the right order. If you don't say them in the right order, 1, 2, 3, 4, you won't know how many there are.
Three: Oh! 1, 2, 3, 4! 3 flapjacks! [buzzer]
Four: Oh, we've been here before. [giggles]
Five: Rule three: The last number is how many! When you reach the last thing to count, the last number you say tells you how many there are.
One: Try!
Four: You can do it.
Two: Go on!
Three: One, two, three, four! That's the last flapjack, so...four flapjacks?
Five: That's right!
All (Except Three): [cheer]
Three: I did it! I know how to count! One: count everything once. Two: say the numbers in the right order. Three: the last number is how many. Three rules of counting!
All (Except Three): [cheer again]
Four: Let's celebrate with flapjacks! I've packed an extra one for you, Five. Hang on, it's gone!
[A faint mumbling sound can be heard in the background. The Numberblocks all gasp, running to the empty plates, confused. Behind their backs, the Flapjack Snaffler, within the woods, is revealed and comes into view, grumbling as it eats the flapjacks, being unnoticed.]
